This sweet antique 14 karat gold ring features a flashy, oval cut blue topaz gemstone. It is cast with charming simplicity, highlighting just the right amount of detail to either side of the mounting. A truly fantastic piece from the Mid Century era of the, 1940's-1950’s. Its beautiful face is set with a very elegant and fiery bright blue topaz, measuring 10mm by 12.7mm. This gemstone is held in place by wide prongs and is set in a wonderful modern open mount design. The rise off the finger measures 5.3mm. The gold stamp is no longer visible but the gold tests as 14 karat. The surface of the gemstone shows no wear and was likely a replacement and not original to the setting. The total weight of the ring is 3.7 grams.
